CCT Presents Five More Performances of “The Dixie Swim Club”

“The Dixie Swim Club” continues this weekend at the Caribbean Community Theater.  There will be five more performances of this comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten over the next two weekends: at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, July 15 and 16, and July 22 and 23, as well as one Sunday matinée at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 17.
The play features Kathy Bennett, Michelle Greene, Sherri Poree, Bonita Repp and Christine Thomas as a group of Southern women whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team. The five set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships, sharing their career accomplishments and life changes. In an evening full of quirky quips and snappy sarcasm, this hilarious and touching comedy focuses on four of those weekend get-togethers, spanning a period of 33 years. The production is directed by Sylvia Brady.
All performances will be held at the Caribbean Community Theatre, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove in Christiansted, St. Croix. Tickets are sold at CCT prior to each performance: $20 for adults; $18 for senior citizens (age 65+); $15 for college students with ID; and $10 for students/children under age 18. The box office opens for ticket sales at 7:15 p.m. on show nights, and at 3:15 p.m. for the Sunday matinée. No reservations are accepted; arrive early for best seating. This show is not recommended for children under age 13.
This play is jointly supported by a grant from the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, D.C.
