Tony Vanderperk’s Mural Paintings Exhibit at CMCArts

Tony Vanderperk’s ‘Mural Size Paintings 2001-2011’ opens on Nov. 4, at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in Frederiksted in the main upstairs gallery. The public is invited to an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.  Refreshments and a cash bar will be available. Admission is free. The exhibit will be displayed through Dec. 10 and is funded in part by the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Vanderperk’s works are semi-abstract constructed paintings. The seven mural size paintings in the exhibition range from the stunning use of color and space to the quiet and almost minimal. Several of the works have evolved over the years with various stages of creation.
The Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts is located on the waterfront at 10 Strand Street in Frederiksted. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, beginning Nov. 1 and all other cruise ship days. On Saturdays, for this show only, the exhibit will remain open until
7 p.m. on Saturdays. Call the museum at 772-2622 or visit the Web site at www.cmcarts.org for additional information.
