Amateur Radio Operators located at the Virgin Islands Territory Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) are utilizing the 60M Radio Band/CH2 (5346.5 USB) to coordinate emergency communications in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
As an aid to military members and their families affected by Hurricane Irma in the Virgin Islands, the V.I. National Guard (VING) Family Assistance Center (FAC) opens on St. Croix on Thursday, Sept. 14.
Hurricanes can cause dangerous and destructive high winds, flooding, heavy rain and storm surges. The following points can keep a family safe after a hurricane has made landfall, according to the Center for Disease Control.
