Viya to Introduce Gig E for Business and Residential Customers at St. Croix Customer Center

On April 19, Innovative and Choice Wireless merged and became a new company called Viya. At the Viya launch, a commitment was made to continuously offer more services that will offer faster speeds, more bandwidth and ease of use for business and residential subscribers. Viya is delivering on that promise.

On Aug. 23, Viya’s CEO Alvaro Pilar will host “Tech Talk With Viya,” an opportunity for businesses and residential customers to experience, via demonstrations, the capability of Viya’s network. Although there will be a discussion about various telecommunications products, the focus will be on Gig Ethernet (Gig E), which is 1000 Mbps. With fully symmetrical speeds to the end-user device, more bandwidth and increased speeds, Gig E provides access to next level, high-speed data and bandwidth requested by Virgin Islands businesses.

“Tech Talk with Viya” will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Viya’s Customer Experience Center at Estate Diamond on St. Croix. Complimentary hors d’ oeuvres will be served.

Pilar said, “We are providing reliable and affordable connectivity to enable Virgin Islanders to successfully compete in local, regional and global marketplaces. We have been providing Gig E service to businesses through our fiber optic terminals. Today, we are introducing new technology to deliver Gig E in a reliable and affordable way not only to businesses but also to residential customers. Gig E provides the unlimited bandwidth needed to support the next generation of applications and businesses.”

“At Viya, we will continue to upgrade all products and services to offer the level of connectivity that is on par with the leading companies in the world. I hope that our customers take advantage of the opportunity to view our demonstrations,” said Pilar.
