The V.I. Police Department arrested Askia Richards on Saturday and charged him with an assault that took place Friday, in which a woman was choked.
The police report did not include any information about the attack or other details, including where the attack took place or the time of the incident.
The 23-year-old Richards was charged with second-degree assault/domestic violence. Under the terms of the territory ‘s domestic violence statute, no bail was set.
Richards was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advice of rights hearing.
