V.I. Swimmers Compete at 17th FINA World Championships in Budapest

The Virgin Islands Swimming Federation had two swimmers compete in the 17th FINA World Championships in Budapest (FINA: Federation Internationale de Natation), which were held from July 13-30. These championships host all aquatic disciplines: swimming, diving, high diving, synchro, open water and water polo.

Adriel Sanes and Gregory Penny both represented the V.I. in the FINA Championships in swimming. Adriel swam the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:09.20, placing 41st

overall. He swam the 200m breast stroke with a time of 2:20.92, placing 55th overall. 

Gregory Penny swam the 50m breast stroke with a time of 29.96, placing 55th overall. He swam the 100m breast stroke with a time of 1:05.16, placing 56th overall.
