Update Given for Latin American and Caribbean Senior League Regional Baseball Tournament

This is an update for the Latin American and Caribbean Senior League Regional Baseball Tournament.  Some teams have completed their pool play; there are still some important games left to shape up the standings.

The following are the standings for the Caribbean Region as of July 12.

Pool A                                                             Pool B

British Virgin Islands: 3-0                            Puerto Rico: 3-0

Aruba: 1-1                                                         Curacao: 1-2

St. Croix: 1-2                                                    St. Thomas: 1-3

St. Maarten:  0-2

In the Latin American Region, Panama leads the best of five series 2 games to 0.

Games scheduled for Thursday, July 13: All times to be determined based on field preparation

Panama vs Mexico: TBD (to be determined)

Puerto Rico vs Curacao: TBD

St. Maarten vs Aruba: TBD

In Pool A for the team from St. Croix, USVI, to advance to the semi-finals, St. Croix would need St. Maarten to be victorious and score seven (7) or more runs.  In Pool B for the team from St. Thomas, USVI, to advance to the semi-finals, St. Thomas would need Puerto Rico to be victorious and score eight (8) or more runs, according to Kirk D. Thomas, public relations coordinator for Latin American/Caribbean Senior League Baseball Tournament.

There will be no radio or live streaming of the games; therefore, there is more reason to come on out and enjoy the day at Lionel Roberts Stadium along with friends and family members.

As for the semi-finals in the Caribbean Division, only two (2) teams have secured their spots. That’s the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
