Lawrence Petersen Sr., also known as “Howell” or “Pete,” of Estate Sion Farm died on June 16. He was 72 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria T. Petersen; father, Joseph Petersen; grandparents: Ezekiel Thomas, Anna Webb, Robert Petersen and Maria James Petersen; son, Alston Petersen; sister, Veronica Frorup; and godparents: Agatha Krauser and Albert Christian

He is survived by his wife, Alexandrine Petersen; sons: Lawrence Petersen Jr., Reginald Petersen and Allan Petersen; grandchildren: Ariann Petersen, Marcus Petersen, Malif Petersen, Aaliyah Petersen, Roshawn Petersen, Allan Petersen Jr., Ashley Petersen and Alesha Petersen; sisters: Doreen Pemberton, Winifred Encarnacion, Mercedes Samuel and Josephine Springer; and brothers: Raymond Petersen, Claudius Petersen and Alphonso Petersen.

He is also survived by nieces: Lucinda Christian, Myrna Koji, Arlene Rice, Yolanda Filzpatric, Annette Gonzalez, Partricia Pierre, Elizabeth Thurland, Anna M. Encarnacion, Melissa Lake, Nicole Samuel, Kimberly Samuel, Melanesia Hendrickson and J’Nelle Easley; nephews: Carl E. Andrews, Clifford Andrews, Christian Frorup Jr., Raymond Petersen Jr., Marvin Samuel, Gregory Samuel, Michaelangelo Encarnacion and Troy Springer; aunts: Mary Phillip and Emelda Thomas; daughter-in-law, Natasha Petersen; sister-in-law, Laurel H. Petersen; and godchildren: Renfro Hodge and Shamal Guadalupe.

There will be viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
