‘Spicy in Paradise’ Chili Cook-Off Set for May 28

The United Way of the U.S. Virgin Islands will host the new Chili Cook-Off from noon to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 28, at the Divi Carina Bay All Inclusive Resort on St. Croix. This year’s theme is “Spicy in Paradise,” and United Way will be bringing the heat.

Food lovers will be tantalized by bold island spices and unique flavors of local cooks who will be “Cooking for a Cause” to help the community. Proceeds will benefit United Way programs in education, health and financial stability.

The public is invited to begin tasting chili at noon and “Turn-Up d’ Vote” for the favorite “People’s Choice Award Chili.” Other categories to be judged are “Best Traditional Chili” and “Best Non-Traditional Chili,” and there will be three chances to win in each category.

Raffle tickets for prizes will be on sale, along with refreshing beverages, and there will be a kid zone on site. Live entertainment and performances will be featured by Rash on the Riddim and DJ Swain, Kurt Shindler, The Fyah Train Band and more.
