Magdalene Nellie Green Dies

Magdalene Nellie Green, also known as “Sister,” “Ma Green,” “Mammy,” “Mother,” an “Granny,” died on April 22.

She is survived by her mother, Franciette Emelda Drigo; daughters: Bernadine Christmas, Constance Jefferson, Eulalie King, Theresa Telemarque and Martha Matthew; sons: Riviere King, Jefferson King, Ray Joseph Jacob and Carl Jacob; and grandchildren: Dian Ellison, Sondra Antoine, Sophia and Shana Alexis, Cassandra, Decilia, Kathy, Gibbs, Rivere Olivia, Ronald, Clian King, Alana and Alexia Reid, Ty Massaquoi, Nkosi, Kevin and Kevon Francis, Chad and Carter Jacob, and Lyn Huggins.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Tkeyah and Khadijah Lake, Croix Ellison, Laquasha and Luciano Rigby, Linique Dean, Gabrielle and Hudson Antoine, Dominique, Danielle, Danae Jenkins, Noah, Kelvin, Mia Nicholas Francis, Giselle, Tyra, Tyron, Denzil, Joanna, Leon, Joshua King, Onyx, Christopher Huggins, Caheyah and Akani Jr. Brathwaite; great-great-grandchildren: Kaiden Wagon and Mickaylie Coombs; sister, Clara Henry; and brothers: James Sylvester Marie, Orbin Francois, Franklin, Deles and Ralton Green; aunt, Virginia Drigo.

Other survivors include nieces: Joann, Sylvia, Rhoda, Monica, Cranston, Sylvanne, Joanne, Reneé, Theresa, Vernelle, Bridget, Marvella, Nesta, Timisha, Markiesha, Lynah, Anita, Agatha and Cornelia; nephews: Lawrence, Ensley, Marcelle, Ivon, Clement, Bogord, Jolly, Lester, Frankie, Wellie, Andy and Brielle; daughters-in-law: Elvira King and Lori Jacobs; sons-in-law: Pastor Kettly Jefferson and Moses Massaquoi; brothers-in-law: Felix Telemarque and Mr. C. Henry; sisters-in-law: Idona Celestine-Marie and Normalyn Francois; friends and family: Sandra, Brian, Lynn and Claron Warrington, the Challenger family, Margaret Liburd, the Bougouneau family, the Green and Drigo families (DA) and the Auntie Laukie family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at Divine Funeral Service Chapel. A second viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, May 5, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
