Woman Robbed, Carjacked at Gunpoint

A woman was robbed at gunpoint and her car stolen just before midnight Tuesday in the La Grande Princess area, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, the 911 call center received a report of a robbery at 11:42 p.m. At the scene, the woman, whose name was not released by police, talked to the responding officers. She told them had been approached by an unknown armed man wearing a mask. He pointed a gun to her head and demanded that she give him the keys to her vehicle.

He drove off with her vehicle, fleeing the area in a westerly direction, she told police. The victim was not injured.

Police urged anyone with information about the case to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211, 911, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers V.I., at 1-800-222-8477.
