‘Historic Walkabout’ Walk/Run Postponed Until June

* The VI History Month “Historic Walkabout” (the step-street walk/run) scheduled for Saturday, March 25, has been postponed.  Race Director Jason Budsan has identified June 24 as the new date. Additional details will be provided soon. Volunteers are needed. Please contact jason.budsan@gmail.com if interested.

*  STAR’s next event is the Carnival Mile on Saturday, April 29.  This enjoyable race has been run (and walked) in its present form since 1983.  The one-mile course starts at 7:30 a.m. at Western Cemetery/Harwood Highway (Main Street extended) and ends at F.D. Roosevelt Park. Proceeds from the event will go to St. Thomas Rescue. For registration details, contact Therese Hodge at 775-6373.

* Congratulations to Calvin Dallas on his 3:18.50 marathon win on St. Croix. This former VI Olympian is 65 years old!  A younger master’s runner, Ruth Ann David, must also be lauded for her sub-40, 10K run in Puerto Rico.  Details can be found on the Web page of the Virgin Islands Pace: http://www.virginislandspace.org/info.html
