Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Mount Pleasant

A woman was robbed at gunpoint when driving to a friend’s house Wednesday night in Mount Pleasant, losing her car and suffering an injury to the head, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, officers were dispatched at 11:23 p.m. to investigate the assault. At the scene, the woman – whose name was not released by police – told the officers she had been traveling to her friend’s home and noticed a vehicle followed her to that location.

Two masked men shoved her out the car, she said, threatened her at gunpoint, assaulted her, took her vehicle and fled the area. The victim sustained a laceration to the forehead.

Police asked anyone with information to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211 on St. Croix or 340-774-2211 on St. Thomas. They also can call the 911 center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1800 222-8477.
