Three Women Charged with Kidnapping

Three women were arrested Tuesday and charged with kidnapping in an incident that netted only $40, according to the V.I. Police Department.

At 10:02 p.m. Monday, the 911 call center received a report of a 22-year-old female victim, whose name was not released by police, being abducted from her residence and robbed.

The victim told police her friend, 34-year-old Tiffany Mendez, had come to her house with 35-year-old Iesha Smith and demanded that she go with them. The victim refused and Mendez drew a gun on her and forced her into the vehicle, police said.

In the vehicle, another female, identified as 30-year-old Ebony Hercules, allegedly punched her while she was in the back seat as they drove to the Lagoon Beach entrance in Christiansted.

The victim reported she was robbed of $40 and her personal identifications.

Between 3 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Smith, Mendez and Hercules were all arrested and charged with kidnapping for robbery. All three women were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Facility pending their advice of rights hearings.
