DOH to Host Wheel-Out Events for Diabetes Awareness

In recognition of American Diabetes Month, the Virgin Islands Department of Health (DOH) and its community partners will host the 3rd annual “Wheel-Out.” Their purpose is to promote physical activity and healthy eating while educating the community on prevention measures and diabetes management. Families are invited to come out with any non-motorized vehicle (scooters, bicycles, skateboards, baby strollers, etc.) to enjoy a family day out.

The American Diabetes Association recognizes the month of November as American Diabetes Month, when the nation is encouraged to focus its efforts on diabetes and the tens of millions of people affected by it. This year’s theme is, “This Is Diabetes.” For more information, call 718-1311, ext. 3700

St. Thomas Wheel-Out: from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, Fort Christian Parking Lot
