Realtors Give $10,000+ Check to Boys and Girls Club

Under the coordination of the Community Outreach Committee, the St. Croix Board of Realtors presented Neil Canton, director of the Boys and Girls Club of the Virgin Islands, with a check for $10,200 on Oct. 10.
Being the “Voice of Real Estate” in the community, realtors generously contributed throughout the year for what they consider an important youth-servicing organization on St. Croix. The Boys and Girls Club provides a “home away from home” in the neighborhood for hundreds of kids during the critical after school hours and the summer. Their purpose is to help young people, aged 7 – 17, improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during their critical periods of growth.
The $10,000+ will be used specifically for physical plant improvements to the Girls and Boys Club in Fredriksted, located at 33 Two Brothers. The facility will receive much needed roof repairs to the large building and new windows for the smaller of the two buildings. The club also needs a number of other items and repairs. If you NY business can assist, please contact the Boys and Girls Club at 778-8890.
